OXFORD, Ohio. -- The Western Michigan hockey team erased a two-goal lead in the third period to battle Miami to a 3-3 tie and earn the extra point after 2-0 win in the shootout on the road on Saturday night.

MU held its 1-0 lead into the third period and pushed it to 2-0 on a goal by Ryan Savage just 37 seconds in.
