KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Despite being off this past weekend, the Western Michigan hockey team was able to rise in the latest national polls. The Broncos have won nine of their last 10 games and sit in second place in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) with six games left in the regular season.
WMU checked in at No. 8 in both the DCU/USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls released earlier today. The Broncos were able to jump over Ohio State, as the Buckeyes went 0-1-1 against Notre Dame over the weekend. Western Michigan has now spent 44 consecutive weeks in the top-20.
