OXFORD, Ohio – For the first time this season and first time since Feb. 23, 2018 the Western Michigan men's basketball captured a road Mid-American Conference victory, defeating Miami 64-60 on Tuesday night inside Millett Hall.
The victory snapped WMU's 14-game MAC road winless streak and secured the Broncos seventh straight victory in Oxford and sixth straight overall in the series. WMU improved its overall record to 10-12 and 3-6 in conference play.
It was tied up at 58-58 with 36.9 seconds left and off an inbound play, redshirt junior Brandon Johnson grabbed it at the top of the key, drove left, pump faked and got off a shot that went off the backboard and in to give WMU a two-point advantage.
