KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The 13th ranked Western Michigan hockey team lost for the first time this season at home after falling to No. 17 St. Cloud State on Friday evening at Lawson Ice Arena.
Mikey Eyssimont gave the Huskies an early 1-0 lead just 48 seconds into the first period after poking it in from the side of the goal for his seventh goal of the season. That was the lone goal of the period as the Broncos (7-4-2, 3-4-0 NCHC) outshot SCSU 9-8.
Neither team scored in the second period, but Western Michigan kept up the pressure and rattled off 11 shots on goal.
