KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan freshman midfielder Brennan Creek cracked the scoreboard for the only time Sunday as the Broncos held off Wright State 1-0 in exhibition men's soccer action. Creek pushed in a loose ball with just under three minutes remaining in the first half to provide the match's lone goal.
WMU, with four days of preseason practices under its belt, came out strong in the opening half and controlled much of the run of play. The Broncos generated a few early chances, but it was not until Creek broke through in the 42nd minute that Western Michigan took a 1-0 lead.
