The Western Michigan University volleyball team opened their 2018 season Friday with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23) exhibition victory over the Hillsdale College Chargers.
The Broncos started off strong in the first set, taking a 7-1 lead early on. Hillsdale would score nine of the next 13 points to shrink the Broncos’ lead to 11-10, and later on took an 18-16 lead. Two points would be the biggest lead the Chargers would have in the set, and the Broncos went on a 9-3 run to close the set from that point, winning it 25-21.
In the second set, it was more of the same.
