With the loss, the Broncos’ season came to an end, eliminating them from further postseason competition. On the other hand, Bowling Green moves on to the semifinals to face the University of Miami, the first overall seed in the tournament.
The first set started out shaky for the Broncos, facing a 7-1 deficit early on, prompting a timeout from Head Coach Colleen Munson. After the timeout, the Broncos made a set of it, going on a 4-1 run to prompt a Bowling Green timeout at 5-9. The set was close late, but the Broncos took their first lead of the match at 11-10 and never looked back, taking the 1-0 match lead with a kill from junior middle blocker Sydney LeMay.
