The Western Michigan University volleyball team split their weekend road matches, dropping their match Thursday against Northern Illinois University, 3-1 (15-25, 25-20, 21-25, 19-25), and winning their Saturday match against Bowling Green State University, 3-1 (25-21, 25-15, 21-25, 27-25).
With the split, the Broncos’ overall record moved to 11-7, with a 1-3 record in the MAC, good for fifth place in the MAC West division.
In the Northern Illinois match, the Huskies jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the first set and never looked back, holding WMU to an .077 hitting percentage for the set. The Broncos would rebound to start the second set, taking a 14-9 lead halfway through the set.
