The Western Michigan University volleyball team had a tough weekend at home, dropping their first two Mid-American Conference matches of the 2018 season at University Arena.
On Friday, the Broncos were defeated by Ball State University, 3-1 (25-17, 17-25, 19-25, 24-26). On Saturday, they lost a close matchup with the University of Toledo, 3-2 (23-25, 23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 14-16). This puts the Broncos at 0-2 in conference play, and 10-6 overall on the young season.
In the Ball State matchup, the Broncos won the first set, holding the Cardinals to just an .026 hitting percentage. However, Ball State regrouped and pulled out the next three sets, coming back from a deficit in each one.
