KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team heads to the University of Minnesota for the Jack Johnson Classic on Friday and Saturday.
This is the first trip back to the Jack Johnson Classic since the 2014 season when WMU finished fifth overall. The meet also signifies the first time the Broncos will compete in the pentathlon this indoor season. Western Michigan's Kathryn Pickett won the pentathlon back in 2014.
Freshmen Diana Holsey and Allison Hufnagel will each compete in their first career pentathlons on Friday.
"It's a whole different environment," said head coach Kelly Lycan on the difference between the pentathlon and reguular events.
