KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan softball team dropped game one of this weekend's three-game series against Ball State, 2-1, Friday at Fran Ebert Field. The Broncos and Cardinals will conclude the series with a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 1 p.m. WMU will also recognize its 2017 seniors, as well as alumni Saturday afternoon.
In the second at bat of the game, Ball State's Rachel Houck launched a two-run home run to right field. Despite a strong Bronco pitching and defensive effort over the remainder of game, Houck's home run proved to be the game-winner for the Cardinals.
