KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The ninth-ranked Western Michigan hockey team rebounded after a tough Friday night to defeat North Dakota, 4-2, in front of a sellout crowd at Lawson Ice Arena on Saturday night.
Freshman defenseman Michael Joyaux netted his first two collegiate goals and the Broncos (17-10-2, 10-7-1-1) also picked up tallies from Josh Passolt and Hugh McGing. Trevor Gorsuch made 24 saves to earn his fifth of the season. WMU outshot UND 28-26 tonight and finished 2-for-3 on the power play.
After a scoreless first period, Western Michigan struck first at 7:00 in the second period.
