KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team is off to a 3-0-1 start and after its bye week is receiving votes in both national polls.
WMU earned 73 points in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll and five points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. The Broncos come in unofficially at 21st in the USCHO.com poll and tied for 22nd in the USA Today poll.
Western Michigan opens National Collegiate Hockey Conference action this week traveling to No. 3 Denver for games on Friday and Saturday. Friday's 9:35 p.m. start can be seen live on the Altitude network and simulcast on NCHC.
