KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan gymnastics team was edged by Central Michigan in Sunday's Mid-American Conference dual. The Chippewas took the meet with an overall score of 193.675, while the Broncos scored a 192.700.
WMU's record is now 1-1 in the MAC standings, while CMU is 1-0.
Bronco senior Rachael Underwood was the champion on the balance beam, winning the event and tying a career high with 9.875. The 9.875 was the highest score by any gymnast in any event on the day. Competing as an all-arounder, Underwood had three of her four routines counted towards the team total.
