NCCU started the game with the ball, but promptly went three-and-out, giving the Broncos good field position for their first drive.
It took no time at all for the Broncos to capitalize on their field position, as senior quarterback Zach Terrell completed a 52-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Corey Davis on their first play from scrimmage, quickly giving Western a 7-0 lead.
“It felt pretty good to set the tone for the game,” Davis said. “I knew it was going to happen. I saw the safety come down and I just took it from there.
