Bronco basketball plays loose, wins opener of three game home stand

The game was close throughout regulation. The Broncos led with 27 seconds left in the second half after a layup by junior Tucker Haymond made the score 80-77. Northeastern’s David Walker answered with a game-tying three point shot with 18 seconds remaining in the second half to tie the game back up, 80-80. WMU had two chances to win but neither Josh Davis or Haymond could find the bottom of the basket as time expired, forcing the game to head to overtime.

Sophomore point guard Thomas Wilder was star for the Broncos in overtime, scoring all seven of his team’s points.
