KALAMAZOO, MI -- The brass and woodwinds are back on Bronco turf preparing for the first football game of the 2018-19 season.
With high humidity and temperatures in 80s, the Western Michigan University Bronco Marching Band rehearsed Monday, Aug. 27, preparing for their debut show during Western Michigan football's game against Syracuse Friday, Aug. 31.

Interim Band Director John Leonard said the 330-person band is ready for their first show of the season.
Preparing drills for their show of Latin-inspired music, the students practiced roll-stepping, counting out the beat and perfecting their positions on the field.
