Big Third Period Leads Bronco Hockey to 6-3 Victory Over Miami

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan (4-2-1, 1-2-0 NCHC) erupted for three goals in the third period to take game one of this weekend's series against Miami, 6-3. Sophomore forward earned first star honors after netting two of WMU's third-period goals and tallying an assist on the game-tying goal in the second period.

The game was a back-and-forth contest through the first two periods before the Broncos finished off the RedHawks in the final 20 minutes. Sophomore tucked away the first goal of the night at 8:36 in the first period, but the RedHawks' Anthony Louis responded just over a minute later to tie the score at 1-1.
