KENT, Ohio -- The Western Michigan women's basketball team trailed at halftime, but used a big second half to pull away and defeat Mid-American Conference (MAC) East foe Kent State 65-53 Saturday afternoon.
The win improved the Broncos to 13-8 overall and 5-4 in the MAC while the Golden Flashes fall to 4-15, 1-8 in the MAC. The win also improved WMU to 5-5 on the road this season and snapped a brief two-game losing streak.
Junior Meredith Shipman found her stroke from beyond the arc early, going 4-for-6 at the midway point and finishing 5-for-8.
