If Western Michigan gets snubbed by the College Football Playoff committee, other options may open up for a high-profile bowl.
According to CBS writer Dennis Dodd, negotiations are underway to open a pathway to ESPN-run bowls if the 12-0 Broncos don't get the nod from the College Football Playoff Committee for the Cotton Bowl.
Additional bowl possibilities could include the Armed Forces, Birmingham, Boca Raton, Camellia, Celebration, Hawaii, Heart of Dallas, Las Vegas, New Mexico and St. Petersburg.
With the popularity of the team and coach P.J. Fleck on the rise and their involvement in ESPN's "College GameDay" two weeks ago, Dodd said a source has told him there's talk of matching up the Broncos with a good time slot if they win the MAC Championship game against Ohio on Friday night at Ford Field.
