KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan hockey associate head coach Ben Barr has accepted a coaching position at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst as announced by the school on Tuesdaymorning.
Barr takes the position of assistant coach on new head coach Greg Carvel's staff after ending his two-season tenure with the Broncos. He joined head coach Andy Murray's staff back in 2014.
"We appreciate Ben's contributions to the program," said Murray. "He is a quality person and a great coach and we wish him the best."
"We have a tremendous opportunity to add to our staff and a national search will begin immediately.
