Baseball Put Runners on in all but One Inning at Ball State, but Cardinals Win 7-2

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Western Michigan baseball team had runners on in all but one inning against Ball State Saturday afternoon, but that wasn’t enough as the Cardinals won 7-2 at home at Ball Diamond in the first of a three-game series.

The Broncos fall to 8-18 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) while the Cardinals improved to 19-12, 5-2 in the MAC and 8-2 at home.

The Broncos took a 1-0 lead early, with a run in the top of the first inning. Junior Nick Vogelmeier, who leads the team in walks (20), drew his first walk of two on the day to lead off the inning.
