AVON, Ohio – The defending champion Western Michigan baseball team opened the 2017 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament with a thrilling 6-5 win over Eastern Michigan. The No. 6 seeded Broncos took down No. 3 EMU in 10 innings and used a clutch two-out Nick Vogelmeier RBI single to take the lead in the 10th, followed by a Vogelmeier turned double-play to end the game.
