KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Thomas Wilder and Tucker Haymond led a late second-half Bronco rally, but Western Michigan's comeback attempt fell short on the road at Ball State as the Cardinals prevailed, 84-78.
Western Michigan fell behind 10 at halftime after Ball State took the lead with 7:13 left before the break. Wilder played just 10 minutes and had two points in the first half after picking up two fouls.
The Cardinals were able to outscore WMU 20-10 in the paint in the first half and 10-2 on nine Bronco turnovers.
Ball State extended its lead to as many as 14 midway through the second half.
