KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team wraps up its team awards for the 2021-22 season with Ronnie Attard being named the Neil Smith Most Valuable Defenseman and sharing the Rob Hodge Most Valuable Player Award with Ethen Frank.
Attard finished third on the team in scoring with 36 points on 13 goals and 23 assists, while leading the team in plus/minus at +20. He also finished second on the team in blocked shots with 50. Attard repeated as the NCHC's Best Offensive Defenseman, was named First Team All-NCHC and an American Hockey Coaches Association West Division First Team All-American.
