COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan hockey's Alex Aslanidis and Ronnie Attard have earned National Collegiate Hockey Conference weekly honors after their performances in WMU's sweep of No. 4 Minnesota-Duluth.
Attard earned Bauer NCHC Defenseman of the Week for the second this season, while Aslanidis earned Bauer NCHC Goalie of the Week.
Aslanidis was in net for both of WMU's wins against the Bulldogs. On Friday, he made 24 saves to earn his first collegiate shutout. The freshman had eight of his 24 saves come on five UMD power plays and three saves came during at two-minute 5-on-3 advantage for the Bulldogs.
