The veteran trio of senior Colt Conrad, and juniors Dawson DiPietro and Wade Allison are looked upon to be main contributors to the No. 12 Western Michigan hockey team’s offense.
Throughout the course of the season, their numbers have fluctuated as Allison and DiPietro have dealt with injuries. Now, Allison seems to have finally regained his confidence after tearing his ACL halfway through last season, while DiPietro has also found his groove.
When these three are on a line together, head coach Andy Murray refers to them as the gold unit. In their past three games, the trio has combined for 21 points and accounted for nine of the team’s 13 goals.
