INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Western Michigan baseball team won its fifth straight game as junior Keegan Akin extended his scoreless inning streak to 22.2 in the Broncos 2-0 win over Butler, but WMU fell to Bradley 16-5 in the second game of the day to end the winning streak.
Akin (2-2), who has now dropped his season ERA to 0.96, pitched 6.2 innings allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out eight batters. Akin retired the 11 of the first 12 batters he faced. Freshman Jack Szott entered to throw the final 2.
