After 'treacherous' offseason, WMU receiver D'Wayne Eskridge is thankful to be back on the field

Western Michigan football’s season opener at Akron on Nov. 4 was the first time redshirt senior D’Wayne Eskridge had seen game action in over a year.

On WMU’s Sept. 21, 2019 game at Syracuse, Eskridge, who started at cornerback and wide receiver in the game, went to lay out for a pass from former quarterback Jon Wassink in the first quarter of the Broncos’ 52-33 loss.

Eskridge fell hard to the ground and landed hard on his right shoulder. Just like that, his 2019 season was done as he later found out he broke his collarbone and would miss the rest of the year.
