KALAMAZOO, MI -- It was a beautiful night in Kalamazoo as the Western Michigan Broncos kicked off their 2018 season and more than 20,000 fans started their holiday weekend with some college football.
From Buster Bronco and Triumph the horse, to the Bronco Marching Band and the players on the field, MLive/Kalamazoo Gazette photographers captured the action at Waldo Stadium.
The Broncos lost to Syracuse, 55-42, in front of an announced crowd of 20,628.
Western Michigan faces Michigan in Ann Arbor next week and returns home for CommUniverCity night Sept. 15 against Delaware State.
