The Lady Toppers, like they’ve done throughout the season, overcame those obstacles and found a way to win. Sarah Gorham and Iris Dunn scored goals in the game’s final three minutes and WKU pulled out a 2-0 shutout of the Roadrunners in a match played at Warren Central High School.
The Lady Toppers (12-5-0 overall, 7-2-0 Conference USA) stayed on top of the league with just one more regular-season match to play (Oct. 28 vs. Old Dominion) before the C-USA Tournament, which starts Nov. 2 in Charlotte, N.C.
“We’ve been talking about it – good teams find a way to win,” coach Jason Neidell said.
