BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Western Kentucky men's basketball team kicked off its stay at the Conference USA Tournament with one of its most complete efforts of the season.
The eighth-seeded Hilltoppers (17-15) got contributions from just about everybody Wednesday, rolling past ninth-seeded North Texas 84-76 in the tournament's second round at Legacy Arena.
"I thought our kids played really well – for about 38 minutes, really well … ," WKU coach Ray Harper said. "I thought everybody stepped up. I thought a very good, all-around effort from our guys."
After splitting their regular-season matchups, it could've been easy for the Tops to get caught looking ahead to the Blazers.
