From the end of the 2015 season under then-coach Jeff Brohm to the beginning of this fall under second-year coach Mike Sanford, the Hilltoppers watched 997 starts walk out the door.
“It’s been about on average 12 starters per year that have left, or their eligibility’s been exhausted,” Sanford said Thursday during Conference USA Media Days at The Star. “That’s 36 players in a three-year cycle. That’s quite a bit.”
The list of names who’ve left in recent years include some of WKU’s program greats: Brandon Doughty, Forrest Lamp, Joel Iyiegbuniwe, Nicholas Norris, Taywan Taylor and Mike White.
