Western Kentucky took over out of the locker room Thursday night to keep its win streak rolling.
The Lady Toppers outscored UAB 34-18 over the final 20 minutes at Bartow Arena and went on to a 63-49 road win in Birmingham, Ala.
WKU (16-2 overall, 8-0 Conference USA) won its 14th straight game, matching last year’s team and the 2002-03 squad for reeling off the fourth-longest winning streaks in program history.
The Lady Toppers remained in a first-place tie atop the C-USA standings with UTEP (17-1, 8-0), which beat Southern Mississippi on Thursday. WKU also snapped the Blazers’ 14-game home winning streak that dated to last January.
