WKU softball drops two games in Bulldog Slamboree

The Lady Toppers (7-8) opened their 10-game road swing with 3-2 losses to Central Arkansas and Chattanooga.

WKU struck first Friday morning against Central Arkansas with an RBI single by Carleigh Chaumont, but the Bears answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame.

Chaumont drove in another Lady Topper run in the fifth, but the offense stalled over the final two frames. WKU out-hit Central Arkansas 7-4, led by Chaumont's 3-for-4 performance. Taylor Proctor had two hits.

Hannah Parker took the loss after allowed three earned runs over six innings with five strikeouts.

The nightcap loss to Chattanooga followed a similar script.
