After a series of defeats away from home, some in stunning fashion, Western Kentucky broke through Saturday night at North Texas.
The Hilltoppers (10-8 overall, 2-3 Conference USA) withstood the Mean Green's late push and slammed the door shut, claiming their first road win of the season with an 81-76 victory at The Super Pit.
"We've had three just like tonight, and fortunately tonight we were able to finish," WKU coach Ray Harper said. "It wasn't a thing of beauty down the stretch, but we're that close. It doesn't do you a lot of good unless you can break through and finish one, and fortunately we were able to do that.
