BOCA RATON, Fla. – Tuesday’s Boca Raton Bowl will be the last time Western Kentucky’s seniors get to represent the Hilltoppers in a football game.
The Toppers will play Tuesday against Memphis (6 p.m. CST, ESPN) under the direction of interim coach Nick Holt. With new coach Mike Sanford taking over the program after the bowl, the status of WKU's assistant coaches going forward is undetermined.
Winning one last game for those coaches is an “extremely motivating” factor for the Hilltoppers, left tackle Forrest Lamp said.
December has been a whirlwind month when it comes to coaching the Toppers’ coaching situation.
