Western Kentucky coach Mike Sanford describes his offensive line coach Geoff Dartt as a football guy, through and through.
Dartt’s been a winner, too. Five Division III national championships at Mount Union (Ohio) as an offensive lineman and assistant coach show a track record of success for the Port Clinton, Ohio, native.
Then earlier this month, Dartt’s wife, Jan, a physician’s assistant, and Bryan Schneider, head football athletic trainer, told the 33-year-old to undergo an MRI. The scan found two brain tumors.
“He kind of surprised me,” said Sanford, who addressed Dartt’s situation for the first time Monday at WKU’s weekly news luncheon.
