The Hilltoppers (23-20 overall, 9-11 Conference USA) let leads from the seventh inning forward escape them twice, dropping both games of a league doubleheader against Florida International at Nick Denes Field.
WKU took a 7-6 advantage to the ninth inning of Friday's nightcap, but FIU (22-23, 9-11) rallied with two runs in the frame. The Tops had previously been 19-0 this season when leading after eight innings.
In the first game of the day, WKU opened an early 5-0 lead and still led 6-2 after five innings. The Panthers surged back in front with a three-run eighth inning.
