HOUSTON — The ability to put away teams continues to elude Western Kentucky, as does its first road win.
The Hilltoppers let another one get away Thursday night in all-too-familiar fashion.
Rice finished the game on a 21-3 run, leaving WKU (9-8 overall, 1-3 Conference USA) still looking for answers in an 83-73 loss at Tudor Fieldhouse.
"You've got to be able to finish," WKU coach Ray Harper said. "I think it comes down to some mental toughness –finish games, finish plays. We had every opportunity."
The Hilltoppers led 70-62 with 6:36 to play after a jumper by freshman guard Marlon Hunter.
