The Western Kentucky baseball team delivered coach John Pawlowski his first win Friday in a fashion that made him proud.
The Hilltoppers rallied from an early 2-0 deficit on opening day against Youngstown State, finishing out a 5-3 victory at Nick Denes Field.
"I'm proud of our guys," said the first-year coach Pawlowski, who got the game ball. "I'm really excited about the way we carried on today. Being down 2-0 was not easy. That club, Youngstown State, played very well. But I liked the demeanor of our club.
"When you're down, you learn about the makeup and character of people and your club when things don't go quite right early.
