WKU can't keep up with ODU, Freeman in 68-62 loss

NORFOLK, Va. — Western Kentucky had trouble slowing down Old Dominion's Trey Freeman in a solid defensive first half Thursday.

Once Freeman's friends joined in the fun in the second half, it was too much for the Hilltoppers to slow down.

The senior guard Freeman tied a career high with 28 points, and the Monarchs overcame a halftime deficit to hand WKU a 68-62 road loss at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

"First half, we did exactly what we wanted to do," WKU men's basketball coach Ray Harper said. "Second half, we just didn't tag Freeman like we needed to.
