Western Kentucky used a workman-like effort to get back on the winning track Sunday.
The Hilltoppers (5-4) controlled the boards and were nearly automatic from the free-throw line, pulling away from Indiana State in the second half for a 75-62 win in front of 2,810 fans at E.A. Diddle Arena.
"We were a little more locked in," WKU coach Ray Harper said. "We didn't put them at the free-throw line a lot, and that's been getting us in trouble. And then we got to the free-throw line and stepped up and made free throws."
WKU got a career-high 24 points from sophomore forward Justin Johnson to go along with his 10 rebounds.
