Every Hilltopper earned a hit, and WKU got 11 of them to knock off the hottest team in Conference USA with a 9-5 victory over UTSA on Saturday at Nick Denes Field.
WKU (14-14 overall, 4-5 C-USA) defeated UTSA (14-11, 5-3) to stop the conference’s longest winning streak at seven games and used every Topper in the lineup to avoid the series sweep.
“For us to score nine runs, it’s going to have to come from multiple guys,” WKU coach John Pawlowski said. “We’ve got some guys that have been working really hard and I’m glad to see them have success.
