Western Kentucky men’s basketball assistant coach Ben Hansbrough has resigned in the wake of a weekend arrest.
Hansbrough left his post Monday “to pursue other opportunities,” Zach Greenwell, WKU associate director of athletic media relations, confirmed to the Daily News.
Hansbrough was arrested Saturday night on a charge of driving under the influence.
Hansbrough, 29, was processed through the Warren County Jail at 8:43 p.m. Saturday and released at 4:16 a.m. Sunday. Bond was set at $1,000.
Bowling Green police responded at 7:22 p.m. Saturday night to the parking lot of El Mazatlan, 2435 Nashville Road, for a report of a collision involving Hansbrough’s vehicle and another vehicle.
