BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Lady Toppers opened play at the Holiday Inn - University Plaza Hotel Invitational with a 3-1 victory over the Southern Illinois Salukis. WKU won by sets of 25-17, 25-18, 21-25, 25-19.
Jessica Lucas was just one kill away from a triple double in the afternoon contest. The junior setter registered 45 assists to accompany 16 digs and nine kills. Alyssa Cavanaugh led the offensive attack with 16 kills while Rachel Anderson, Sydney Engle and Taylor Dellinger all added double-figure kills.
Georgia O'Connell tallied 18 digs while Engle added 14 and Kaelin Grimes contributed 10.
