KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - WKU women's golf kicked off its spring season on Sunday in the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic as the team sits tied for 12th place in the field of 41 teams after the first round of action.
The Lady Toppers carded a 15-over 303 in the first round to tie alongside Oral Roberts and Morehead State. Chattanooga leads the field by seven strokes after tallying a five-under 283. WKU leads Marshall, the only other C-USA participant, by seven strokes.
Individually, sophomore Georgina Blackman paced WKU with an opening-round 73 and sits just one stroke outside the top 10 on the leaderboard.
