Thompson's triple-double highlights Hilltoppers' trouncing of Marshall

Thompson achieved the second triple-double in the Toppers’ proud basketball tradition Saturday night, racking up 33 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds.

And Thompson did it on a night where WKU destroyed one of its Conference USA rivals. The Hilltoppers (11-5 overall, 3-0 C-USA) were up 61-35 at halftime, led by as many as 34 points and walloped Marshall 112-87 at the Cam Henderson Center.

The 112 points were the most WKU scored in a single game since a 113-79 win against Belmont back on Dec. 10, 1994. The Tops’ 28 assists Saturday were also the most since that contest, and WKU’s 62.
