But Anderson played a well-rounded game beyond the highlight-reel slam Saturday at E.A. Diddle Arena. His 18-point, two-steal, one-block performance was a key reason Western Kentucky (6-6) grabbed a 71-68 home win against Saint Mary’s (8-6).
Then in the second half, Anderson took over during a critical juncture. He scored nine straight Topper points between the 5:30 and 3:33 marks, stretching WKU’s lead from 58-53 to 67-56.
As a freshman last season, Anderson struggled with his jump shot and hit only one 3-pointer in 23 games.
Anderson worked all offseason on improving his jumper. His ability to calmly drain a 3 at the end of the shot clock late in a close game showcased that summer practice.
