EL PASO, Texas – Rick Stansbury wants to get Josh Anderson more minutes. After all, there probably isn’t anyone on Western Kentucky’s roster with more raw athleticism than the freshman guard, a consensus four-star Class of 2017 recruit.
But Anderson is still inexperienced compared to his teammates, having missed the Hilltoppers’ first 15 games. He played just five scoreless minutes Thursday in a 72-60 win at Texas-El Paso.
Stansbury said Anderson’s playing time is a matter of trust, particularly in close games. The Hilltopper coach knows what he’ll get down the stretch from his starting five because he’s seen them in action all season.
